EDM Digest Gets A Brand-New Look

By Glynn Cosker
Managing Editor, EDM Digest

Starting tomorrow, EDM Digest will get even better with a fresh new look.

We're making it easier for you to navigate the site by including several a-la-carte sections, so you can select the news and analysis that best suits your interests.

EDM Digest: New Year, New Colors

EDM Digest will have a brand-new color scheme as well as a redesigned layout - giving you more choices to select from on our homepage as we move into 2018. What hasn't changed is the quality of the content you've come to expect from us.

In the background, our software and network engineers have worked diligently to speed up the site and to give you a better user experience when navigating EDM Digest; call it 'EDM Digest 2.0'.

Content From The Experts

In 2018, EDM Digest will bring you a series of articles and podcasts related to the fields that affect emergency managers and the general public the most, including:

  • Post-hurricane season lessons learned from 2017 and a look ahead to the 2018 hurricane season
  • Emergency operations trends and new protocols, resources and tools
  • Wildfire preparedness and mitigation
  • Tornado preparedness, including analysis of U.S. communities' early warning systems
  • Terror threats, especially the aftermath of vehicle attacks and other international and domestic terrorist events

Additionally, we will provide episodic serial podcasts examining the subjects and topics that are most important to our readership.

In 2018, we will also expand our contributors list with subject-matter experts drawn from our expanding pool of talented American Military University (AMU) faculty, staff, students, and alumni - as well as other contributors from the field of emergency and disaster management.

More Regional and International Coverage

Also in 2018, we will introduce more regional emergency management coverage by providing a series of articles, podcasts or vlogs highlighting emergency managers on the local and community level.

There will also be a new focus on international and military emergency and disaster management; i.e., coverage of Raven’s Challenge as well as a series how emergency managers face and respond to IED cleanups, mine-clearing operations, etc.

All of us at EDM Digest hope you'll appreciate this upgrade and redesign, and we wish our readers a very happy holiday season and a prosperous new year.
