Paris Attacks
According to BBC, [link url=”http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-34826117″ title=”Belgium is the focus of the latest manhunt for suspects”] from Friday’s attacks on Paris, France. Police are seeking recently named Salah Abdeslam, 26, as their latest suspect. Abdeslam is linked to two other suspects, both of which are allegedly his brothers. A total of seven people have been arrested in conjunction with the attacks. Officials in Belgium are promising to look harder at areas known to harbor terrorists.

New Orleans Receives First Refugees
FOX 8 New Orleans reports that [link url=”http://www.fox8live.com/story/30428985/syrian-refugees-beginning-to-arrive-in-new-orleans” title=”refugees arrived in New Orleans”] amidst turmoil in Europe from Friday’s Paris attacks, but have they been sufficiently screened? According to FOX 8, Jim Bernazzani who is the former New Orleans FBI Chief, believes the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force is using the Terrorist Screening Center to scrutinize the refugee’s that are of the highest concern. Approximately 10,000 refugees are slated to arrive in the United States. Failure to adequately screen the refugee immigrants entering the United States could result in an attack similar to the one that occurred in Paris, France.
Migrant Security Concerns

Stricter border control and a better way to scrutinize immigrants is the current push among European leaders, and Eastern European nations are among the most vocal.
IAEM Kicks Off 2015 Conference
The [link url=”http://www.iaem.com/” title=”International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM)”] kicked off its 2015 annual conference in Las Vegas, NV by hosting a Welcome Reception. The conference brings together emergency preparedness professionals from across multiple disciplines to share best practices and help them engage with others in the field. Those in attendance included George Navarini, recently elected IAEM student president and APUS Alumni, along with newly elected IAEM USA president, Robie Robinson.
