barc_1775709c.jpgPolice in Spain have arrested seven men linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba, the group responsible for the 2008 Mumbai terrorist attacks, which has deep ties to al-Qaeda, Taliban elements, and the Pakistani ISI. According to Spanish officials the men, six Pakistanis and one North African, were stealing passports from tourists and selling them to criminal elements in Thailand. The passports were manipulated and sent on to terrorist groups in Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and possibly elsewhere. Spain’s Interior Ministry stated that the arrests were part of an international effort which also led to arrests in Thailand. The arrests were made on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week after 18 months of surveillance and netted stolen passports, hard drives and more than 50 mobile phones and SIM cards.
